Important: rules and guidelines for using the forum

Thank you and welcome to the forum! I hope that you will enjoy participating in the RCMB and learn a lot, make new friends and contribute to the effort.

We are starting small but will (with your help!) grow bigger. To run this smoothly, we would like to ask you to help us by following the the rules stated below:

- You are expected to respect all other members participating on the forum;

- Discussions are encouraged between members, but the board members can act if considered that the discussion goes too far;

- Discrimination is strictly prohibited. This involved gender, race, lgbt, religion, nationality or other groups;

- You are only allowed to discuss politics about ecology, unless specified otherwise.

If you feel like someone has breached these rules, then please PM one of the board members here

- With a whole diversity of languages, it is important that we all speak with one tongue. Therefore, the lingua franca is English in Latin writing, unless specified otherwise;

- For most participants, English will be a foreign language. Therefore, it's possible that spelling and grammar errors will be made. You are expected to respect other people's effort in communicating in a foreign language. You are allowed to PM members to help them correct possible spelling and grammar errors (after all, we are also here to learn!);

- Species names are listed in either English or scientific or both (preferably both). A list of species names in different languages can be found here;

- You are allowed to invite new people to the forum. Please do inform the board about this first;

- The forum is meant for those who can contribute to the RCMB, please refrain from inviting those who can't (for example: not active or related to the field of ecology). You can have people send an email to me if they'd like to be updated about the progress of the project and social media will be launched at a later stage;

- You are not allowed to spam or place spam on the forum;

- You are not allowed to sell products or services on the forum;

- Please also follow the guidelines of the sub-fora (see the respective fora for these guidelines);
